Meet Britinii Bouie | Entrepreneur & Business Consultant
We had the good fortune of connecting with Britinii Bouie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Britinii, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Most people start boutiques thinking it’s easy. They think we just get a model, put on the clothing and make the sale. Which is not the case lol. You have to have a plan, you have be strategic.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others, is that through all my downs and negative experiences with people in this industry, that would lead most people to give up and turn their backs on others who are inspired by them, I continued to evolve my business and mentor others in starting and growing their own businesses. In the industry where people come and go, I’m most excited about my sustainability through the last 10 years. Starting at the age of 14, I’ve always tried to work to make money. Though I enjoyed having an independent source of income, I’ve always dreaded having a boss. So I became my own! In the midst of building my brand, one day, I went to get my hair done at this salon and the owner offered me a small corner in her shop. I agreed! I had a grand opening about two weeks after that meeting in which no one showed up. I was discouraged and confused because I now had a solid location but no one who usually supported stopped by. I began working day in and day out because I remembered my WHY & I knew I couldn’t give up just to go work for somebody else. Through my trials and triumphs over the years, I realized there were so many others out there like me in need, trying to build their own empire. I established my second business, which is a consulting firm whose goal is to offer business essentials to all upcoming entrepreneurs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami has so much too offer and like to give my friends a mixture of what it’s like to grow up in Miami & social media Miami. The first thing we would have to do is get you Miami glammed! I stop my bestie by the local lash & nail place. Of course stop by Kouture Konnections for some fashionable outfits. Good breakfast from our historical MLK restaurant or Ikrave. Next stop, we visit the beautiful South Beach to grab a drink from Wet Willies. By lunch, head over to Pretty Healthy, for something light, healthy & delicious. The party scene is always unpredictable. So depending on day, the time & the vibe, we head out to Tootsies, Rollexx, Oak Craft Bar, Rock Bar, The Office and Hookaholix. For brunch, Iguanas. Nikki Beach or GG’s. For late night food, we stop by and support our local food trucks or bbq spots. Jbaby BBQ, Blue on 119th, Taco Negro, Marlos Roasted Corn and so many more.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I truly believe no one is self made. As I look back upon my journey, their were so many positive and supportive women along the way. Although I can not name them all, I do wanna give special thanks to, Dalia & James, who helped me earlier on in discovering Kouture Konnections. Deelishis (of flavor of love), who was a long time brand ambassador. All of my previous & current staff, especially Josh, Joanne & Penny, that has worked with me while I was building and continuing to learn the business. My models Blue, Red Spice, Daisy, Angelina, Chyna, Kristen, Nikki Natural and countless other beautiful women. Our local radio stations 99 Jamz and Stichiz of 103.5 the Beat, for always believing in me and involving my company in all Community events. Celebrities much as Cardi B, Angela Yee, Dutchess of Black Ink, Emily B, Miss Jackson and more. I also appreciate my male celebrities, Lil Scrappy, Jojo Simmons, King Keraun & Safaree for their contribution. My lawyers Rashelle Jones & Sherria Williams, who are always a call away. Last but certainly not least, I thank god for all my loyal friends, family & supporters. You all have supported me in so many ways such as, buying an item, posting or sharing, a like or comment. Your love and support is appreciated and I thank you.
